Top Twenty Vampire Books You Should Read



So recently I stumbled upon an article that talked about the vampire books you SHOULD be reading, and mostly they were just crap.  I know, you maybe thinking...Why is this not in your book blog? Well because for me vampires are so much more than just a book thing, they are a fucking LIFE STYLE choice...Also I am going to self promote by vampire book here too :

You may also ask yourself... "What are your qualifications to recommend these books to me?" I have liked vampires since I was 9. I have read about them (fiction and non), seen movies, gone to plays, done research and wrote on various subjects in regards to vampires. If I could have gone to school for vampire mythology and made ANY kind of money I would have,


So with Halloween around the corner here we go!

1Dracula by Bram Stoker

2)Carmilla by J-Sheridan-LeFanu

Carmilla is a Gothic novella by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu first published in 1872. It tells the story of a young woman's susceptibility to the attentions of a female vampire named Carmilla.

3)Vampyre by-John-Polidori

Polidori's short story can lay claim to being the very first story about vampires written in English. Polidori was a friend of the poets Shelley and Byron, and this story sprang from the same a after-dinner story-telling competition that led Mary Shelley to write 'Frankenstein'. This is a must-read for anyone interested in the history and origins of vampire stories in Englsih.
